Jeremy Sochan Signs A New Shoe Deal With Nike

Jeremy Sochan has already began making history in his short time in the NBA thus far. His debut as a starter for the Spurs made him the youngest opening-night starter ever in San Antonio Spurs history at the age of 19 years and 152 days.

He now adds to that with a new shoe deal with Nike, as he sits amongst a host of rookies who have now signed with the footwear and apparel giant. The deal itself makes Sochan one of the youngest NBA players ever to sign a shoe deal with Nike, a deal that will see him sport the brand on foot during his NBA fixtures.

It's something else that continues to add to an inspiring journey for Jeremy, especially from the perspective of British Basketball. It's difficult to think off the top how many British basketball players made the NBA, let alone get a shoe deal with a brand as big as Nike. It's well deserved to say the least; his career at Baylor showcased his talent and the amount of potential he has where he averaged 9.2 points and 6.4 rebounds off the bench.

"He's got the tools to do very well," said Greg Popovich, head coach of the San Antonio Spurs. "We just want to throw him in the frying pan and see how he does.

"You've got to give him some space, let him make some mistakes and take time to feel comfortable at both ends of the court," Popovich explained. "It's a whole new world for him."

Sochan and the Spurs will be back on the court against the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis on Friday the 28th of October, scheduled for 11PM GMT.
