Luke Nelson Signs With London Lions

London Lions Pick Up GB International Luke Nelson

The Lions have continued to build on their already impressive roster that includes former NBA big man Kosta Koufous and Ovie Soko. They've now also added GB International Luke Nelson after spending the last season in France with ESSM Portel.

For many, his name alone will ring many bells. Born and raised in Worthing, Nelson spent his time with the Worthing Thunder where he would hone his skills enough to be able to compete with Team GB at the U16, U18 and U20 level.

From there he would head out to UC Irvine where he had an impressive career, leading the Anteaters to their first ever NCAA March Madness appearance and a programme record 28 wins.

He then looked to head to the NBA, but unfortunately went undrafted. After spending some time in the NBA Summer League with the Clippers, his pro career began in Spain with Herbalife Gran Canaria who at the time where competing in the Eurocup. Nelson would also stop off in Germany before heading off to France's Pro A league.

Luke Nelson's abundance of overseas experience as well as Eurocup experience will be a huge boost for the London Lions who will be going into their first ever Eurocup campaign this upcoming season. With his ability to score at all 3-levels and distribute, the Lions currently have a very deep point guard rotation, with Isaiah Reese still on their roster as well as the young talent of Bradley Kaboza. Rest assured that if that is their rotation as it stands, with the amount of talent they have throughout their roster, the Lions will be difficult to deal with both domestically and in Europe.
