London Lions Confirmed For Basketball Champions League Qualification Rounds

The London Lions are one of the top professional basketball teams based in the United Kingdom and are the only professional basketball team out of the capital. They have a talented roster which includes former Cleveland Cavalier DeAndre Liggins, the high-flying Dirk Williams and well-known and well traveled British point guard and a British Basketball League MVP, Justin Robinson. With high levels of dominance displayed here in the BBL, the Lions are looking to get to the next level of European competition in the Basketball Champions League.

Last year, the London Lions fell short of regular season qualification for the BCL at the first hurdle, losing in a close game to Lithuanian side, Neptunas Klaipeda with a final score of 77-73. This meant the Lions could only compete in the FIBA Europe Cup, a campaign which unfortunately ended before it could even begin due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Now, they're back and ready to compete in the qualification rounds again this season.

Their quest will begin around October with the qualification rounds officially beginning on the 4th and the Basketball Champions League regular season officially starting on September 13th.
