British Basketball League Finals Break Ticket Sales Record

British Basketball League Finals Break Ticket Sales Record

British Basketball will be having their biggest ever audience to date at the BBL & WBBL Finals this year which will be held at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham on the 30th of January.

With a week to go, extra capacity has been added as ticket sales surpassed the previous record of 9,100.

“Our events have always delivered top-class entertainment and the very best sporting action British Basketball can provide, and that is reflected in the continued demand for tickets, with a record Cup Final crowd of more than 10,000 people now expected to be in attendance," said Andy Web, Chief Operating Officer of the British Basketball League, per The BBL.

“The additional seating being squeezed in now pushes our Cup Final to the absolute capacity that the venue can accommodate for a basketball event. This shows how much our loyal and dedicated fans across the UK have been eager to return to live sport and we simply can’t wait to have so many supporters join us in Birmingham for what promises to be an incredible day of top class entertainment both on and off the court action.”

This year's finals will see heavyweight matchups in both the BBL and the WBBL, with the BBL Cup up for grabs between the Manchester Giants and the Leicester Riders whilst on the women's side, the London Lions will take on the Newcastle Eagles. As well as the matches, there will also be a BBL Dunk Contest which will see Malcom Delpeche, Joe Mvuezolo (both Sheffield Sharks), Namon Wright, Larry Austin Jr, (both Cheshire Phoenix), Jordan Harris and Murray Hendry (both Glasgow Rocks).

For those unable to attend the event, it will be shown live on SkySports both on television and on their YouTube Channel.
