Jalen Green & Cade Cunningham Matchup Lives Up To The Hype

The No. 1 and No. 2 overall picks in this years draft matched up last night in their first NBA Battle in this year's summer league, as the Houston Rockets & Jalen Green took on the Detroit Pistons and Cade Cunningham.

Both players showed why they were drafted so high, both showcasing their offensive versatility. As well as shooting the 3-ball, Green was intent on slashing and getting to the line. He ended up shooting 11 free throws in the game and made 10 of them, finishing in total with 25 points as well as 5 rebounds.

Cade also did not shy away from the matchup. As well as finding the range from downtown he continuously found himself at the basket, finishing a lot of tough layups and also using his driving ability to find his teammates. He ended the game with a light 20-piece as well as doing work on the defensive end with 3 steals and 4 rebounds.

The game ended in favour of Houston as they won the game 111-91. In Jalen's post game interview he wasn't holding back on how big he felt the chip on his shoulder was after being drafted 2nd overall as he felt that he was the best player in the draft.

In any case, both these two will be fun to watch as will their teams. We can't forget to mention the performances of Josh Christopher and Alprenen Sengun of the Rockets who also had big games as well. We can't wait to see what the rest of the summer league brings.
