Geno Crandall Re-signs With The Leicester Riders
In the British Basketball League, the 2020-2021 Regular Season Champions, the Leicester Riders have resigned point guard Geno Crandall after his MVP season in which he became only the second player in Riders history to win the award.
The 6'4" 24 year old from Minneapolis had an outstanding season in which he averaged 15.9 PPG, 7.8 APG and 5.7 RPG leading the Riders to their fifth BBL Championship title. His explosive yet controlled play style has also made him one of the more popular players in the league, prone for a highlight at any given moment in any given game so much so that he's earned himself the nickname, 'The General' and with the growth that the BBL has had this year with its return to mainstream tv on Sky Sports, it seems like this was almost a perfect time and situation for Geno to do what he's done so far.
"I have loved my time here and I can't wait to play for the Riders again, this time with fan support at the arenas. I found a home in Leicester, the club, the teammates ad staff made me feel so welcome. I'll be working hard this summer to improve my game and be ready again for the new season," Geno said in a statement with the Riders concerning his resigning.
Alongside winning the MVP award, The General was named in the Molten BBL Team Of The Year, picked up a Molten BBL Player of the month award and made the weekly BBL All-Star Five six times during this season.
