The Hoopsfix All Star Classic 2022

The Hoopsfix All Star Classic 2022

This year's highly anticipated All Star Classic, run by Hoopsfix took place at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre over the weekend and most definitely did not disappoint.

After announcements about Harry Pinero co-hosting alongside the familiar faces of Mo Mooncey and Tahir Hajat, as well as the news from Hoopsfix Founder and CEO, Sam Neter himself that tickets for the event were sold out, it was predicted that this years event would be like no other.

The day started off with the 3-point shootout, which was one by Quinn Ellis. This wouldn't be the only trophy the Italy-based hooper would go home with on the day.

This was then followed up by the women's game which saw the likes of Isi Ozzy-Momodu, Kizzy Spence, Funmi Amode and more suit up in front of a sold out crowd at Crystal Palace and battle it out for either team white or team black. Team White came away with the win in this one and it was 17-year old Issy Bunyan of the Cardiff Met Archers who came away with the MVP Trophy, with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Ozzy-Momodu also showed out with 15 points for Team White as did Molly Lavin for Team Black with 17 points and 6 rebounds.

Next, the Dunk Contest. It consisted of two rounds, the first of which required the highest total of two dunk scores in order to advance to the next round. Charles Okafor of Sheffield Elite impressed the judges in the first round with scores of 37 and 40. He was joined in the final round by Declan Kom, also of Sheffield, with first round scores of 31 and 40. In the end, the crown went to the Charles, who edged out his Sheffield teammate in the final round by just two points.

Finally, the men's game. Stacked to say the least. The full 24-man roster included the likes of Louie Jordan, Victor Ndoukou, Simeon Perry, Jason Soodeen and more. Both team white and black battled it out and put on a show for the 1500+ watching courtside. Team white were able to pick up the win and put an end to a phenomenal event run by Sam Neter, someone who has continued to push British Basketball to the forefront year after year. Quinn Ellis picked up his second award of the evening, as he came away with MVP honours on a near triple double; 15 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists.
