Jalen Suggs Sends Gonzaga To The National Championship
Tonight's UCLA vs. Gonzaga Final Four fixture will go down as one of the best college matchups of all time. Tied at regulation. OT back and forth exchanges. A halfcourt shot to win the game. You can't ask for much else during March Madness.
It was tight from start to finish. The 11 Seed UCLA Bruins kept pressure on the undefeated Gonzaga Bulldogs throughout the entire game, with constant lead changes throughout. UCLA's Johnny Juzang took on a lot of the scoring load, leading the Bruins with 29 PTS. Jaime Jaquez Jr. followed with 19 PTS followed by Tyger Campbell with 17 PTS.
The Gonzaga Bulldogs' scoring effort was spread throughout their squad. Joel Ayayi had an almost perfect shooting night whilst scoring a career-high 22 PTS. Gonzaga star Drew Timme led the Bulldogs in scoring with 25 PTS including some incredibly clutch plays down the stretch.
Jalen Suggs didn't have an incredible scoring night, but had some highlights down the stretch that showed us why he's a potential number 1 pick in the next NBA Draft.
But it was the final shot from Jalen Suggs after Johnny Juzang tied the score at 90, that sent the basketball world into a frenzy.
With about 3.3 seconds left, Suggs dribbled the ball to halfcourt and... well you know the rest.
This performance by Suggs that definitely will improve his draft stock which may be pretty hard to improve given the fact that he's projected to go number 1 in the next NBA Draft.
With this dub, the Gonzaga Bulldogs move on to the National Championship game where they will take on Baylor who comfortably handled Houston in tonight's earlier Final Four fixture.
