The Leicester Riders came away with the victory over the Surrey Scorchers in the only BBL Fixture of the night and were able to do so in convincing fashion.
The game started off in favour of the visitors, as they were able to get a small advantage over the scorchers after the first quarter which ended 17-24.
The second quarter saw the riders gain a significant advantage heading into halftime as they were able to increase the gap to a 15 point lead. The third and fourth quarters were pretty much a carry over from the second. The gap remained fairly consistent throughout the game and Leicester maintained that control all the way till the final buzzer.
Geno Crandall got up to his usual PG wizardry, throwing this absurd dime to Zach Jackson for the 3 ball. This was just one of his 11 assists on the night.
It was Darien Nelson-Henry however, that led the winning side in scoring this time round, finishing with an impressive stat line of 21 points shooting 8-8 from the field, as well as 5 boards to go along with it. Marc Loving and Patrick Whelan also played well, contributing 13 points and 15 points respectively. Riders improve their record to 17-2 at the top of the BBL Championship table.
